    Science-Digestion experiment

    Kingfisher class took part in a fun practical experiment to learn about the digestive system! They were then able to label and explain all of the key functions of the digestive system.

    Water sports at Lake 32

    As part of Health and Wellbeing week, Kingfisher class tried out some new water sports at Lake 32. They all learnt how to paddle board, kayak as well as taking a 'leap of faith' and jumping into the lake from the jetty!

    Geography trip to the Malvern Hills

    To develop their fieldwork skills, Kingfisher class went on a class trip to the Malvern Hills. They were looking for evidence of volcanic activity including rock types and special physical features. The children hiked over 4 miles through tricky terrain and all had a brilliant time!

    Geography- Features of a volcano

    Kingfisher class used card to create a cross-section of a volcano as part of their Geography learning. The pupils were also able to label the key features of volcanoes as well as identify the different types of volcanoes!

    Kingfisher class have been learning about fables in their writing lessons this week. Today, they acted out various fables and the rest of the class had to guess the moral messages!

    Kingfisher class spent the day learning about Electricity with a focus on: Circuits, switches, conductors and insulators. They took part in practical enquiries to test out different conductors and insulators as well as assembling different types of switches!

    Copsegrove Farm trip

    Kingfisher class have a fantastic day at Copsegrove farm where they were 'evacuated' to the countryside for the day as part of their World War 2 topic. They spent time cooking, building air raid shelters and searching for clues about life in the war in the woods.

    Geography- Volcano Artwork

    To kick-start our new Geography unit of work the children chose a famous volcano, sketched it and then painted their drawings. The work was brilliant!

    Skateboarding session!

    Kingfisher class loved developing their skateboarding skills despite the wet conditions! They all learnt to 'Flip' their boards up as well as managing to travel at speed! Well done everyone!

    Forest Green Rovers Trip

    Kingfisher class went on a school trip to our local football club FGR to learn about sustainability and healthy eating. The children learnt about the clubs sustainable values including all of the ways they try and look after the environment. They then cooked a delicious vegan match-day meal!
