Science Week
What a way to end our first term!
This week, we have a had a big focus on SCIENCE! The children absolutely loved becoming scientists and taking part in fun experiments. This term we have been learning all about light.
At the beginning of the week, we looked at the question 'do all objects create shadows'. We blacked out the classroom and the children were challenged to answer the question by shining a light on a range of objects.
We also made sun dials - the purpose of this was to see if we were able to tell the time using the sun and IT WORKED!
Can you tell the time by looking at this photo?
We also looked at stereotypes, what it means and how scientists are perceived. At the start of the lesson, I asked the children to draw me what they think a scientist looks like. They included glasses, frizzy, grey hair, white cloaks and test tubes in their hands.
