FGR Trip
What better way to end the term for Christmas with a class trip to the Forest Green Rovers stadium! This trip was focused on cooking and football, which has been our topic this term!
The children loved being taught about how the club is sustainable and green!
We started with a discussion about food and what makes a healthy plate. The beanbags represented the amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fruit & veg and dairy products that should be on each food plate. My team talked about a roast dinner.
We were then able to try some oat milk instead of using cow's milk! The children loved the creamy texture and how it tasted like porridge - we will definitely be using more of this at school!
We began preparing and cooking our spaghetti bolognese, asking questions about where the food came from and the difference between plant-based and meat.
All the children sat round the table for a delicious vegan bolognese!
We finished off the day by having a tour around the stadium, looking at the clubs sustainibilty and even checking out the changing rooms!
