Year 6 sleepover for Shelter
Year 6 spent the night sleeping in the hall with nothing but cardboard and sleeping bags to raise money for charity.
It was a long night for Year 6 who wanted to experience the feeling of being homeless and having to navigate through a night of darkness and discomfort.
They arrived at school at 7pm armed with bags and boxes ready to immerse themselves in the experience and what a night it was!
We spent the first part of the evening around a campfire enjoying hot chocolate and popcorn and playing games in the dark.
After that, the experience began! They were tasked with making their own beds made only from cardboard on the hard floor of the school hall. Sleeping was difficult and uncomfortable and many of them didn't sleep well at all!
An incredible experience and I'm sure they will be glad to get home to their comfy beds!
At the time of posting, the children have raised £800 for Shelter! Amazing!
