Well Being Week in Robins

Wow! What an incredible week we had in Robins doing lots of things to make us feel good. We love exploring and investigating and so on Monday, we started the week with science day, where we explored the question 'could we live on Jupiter?' We explored solids, liquids and gases, learning that Jupiter is made of gas. We then created our own gas, by mixing a solid and a liquid, to inflate a balloon and finished by creating our own rockets and planets.

On Tuesday we enjoyed different sports and games with Mrs Pocket and thought about why exercise is good for us.

Wednesday was try something new day! We started by trying different fruits from around the world and making our own fruit kebabs. Lots of us were brave and tried something new for the first time. We talked about how important it is to learn to be brave, like the Lion in our story 'The Lion Inside'. This was especially important for our next activity...caving! Miss Turner was incredibly proud of us all because we all found our Lion inside and braved the small dark tunnels. It was so much fun and for those who weren't as keen, they came away feeling incredibly proud of themselves for giving it a go.

On Thursday we learnt about slowing down and taking care of our bodies and minds. We enjoyed a yoga session with Tash from Calm Club and made our own breathing sticks to help us calm down when we're feeling frustrated. We talked lots about big feelings and how they are OK and very normal. Miss Turner created a mini volcano to help us think about how it can sometimes feel when we're cross, and we talked about lots of ways to help calm ourselves down. In the afternoon, we enjoyed being in the outdoors and took a walk to our local park.

We ended the week with some team building activities, a picnic on the field and ice lollies in the sunshine. What an incredible and memorable week we had. Thank you to all those who helped to make it happen and feel so special.
