English is the combination of reading, writing and  spoken language.

Our Vision for English

The overarching aim of our English curriculum is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written language, and to develop our pupil's love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment.

Our English curriculum is sequenced so that new skills and knowledge build on what has already been learnt and there is a logical progression in learning for reading, writing and the spoken word.
