Robin class are taught by Mrs Pockett (Mon- Wed) and Mrs Muskett (Wed-Fri) and supported by Mrs Clapton (Mon-Fri). Mrs Organ, Mrs Hose and Miss Stanley also work with Robins class throughout the week.

Welcome to Robins class where we are always excited to welcome the newest members of our Brimscombe family. We believe that this first year in school is instrumental in building a thirst for knowledge and learning in a safe and happy environment, and the team in Robins' class feel privileged to be a part of that for the children in our care.

Our Learning Environment:

Robin class is organised to allow children to explore and learn securely, safely and happily. We have a personalised curriculum with a balance of both structured and free play activities for both Reception and Y1. There are specific areas where the children can be active, be quiet, creative, inquisitive, cooperative and most importantly to us, play and learn happily amongst their peers. Through our enriched learning environment, we promote learning across all 7 areas of the EYFS framework and the Y1 National Curriculum which includes the development of good, age appropriate skills in reading, writing and maths.

Our Outside Space

At Brimscombe, we are passionate about promoting outdoor learning, and so the children in Robins have access to both the inside and outside areas throughout the school day. Our outdoor learning zone has been transformed in the past few years and Robins now have their own, large outdoor learning space that boasts excellent resources and allows our Reception and Y1 children to play alongside and learn from each other. Being outdoors offers opportunities for doing things in different ways and on different scales than when indoors. The children can explore, use their senses and be physically active and exuberant. All areas of our curriculum can be explored outside. We also have regular ‘Welly Wednesday’ outdoor learning sessions in our forest school area that can be accessed by the whole school. 

We follow a slightly different timetable to the rest of the school which allows free flow play and lots of outside learning opportunities. For more information about our daily timetable and teaching and learning in our class, please use the tabs on the right-hand side.
